About Fractal Loop Theory
Fractal Loop Theory (FLT) is the result of a personal project which started in the late 1990's. After a series of fortunate and unfortunate events it is finally ready to start it's own emergent journey into the world. FLT is a unified theory. Not of everything, though everything can be derived from it.
The Theory itself is observational. It's not a theory born of maths, but out of belief. I was inspired after reading A Brief History of Time to explore what a Unified Theory of Everything might be and whether or not, if it did exist, whether it was hiding in plain sight. The reason why I thought this might be the case was because I'd recently read 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins, and thought maybe where we had been going wrong to date was to believe that there was anything complex about the creation of the Universe at all. Maybe all we had to do was believe that the answer was something simple, just staring right at us. It has taken me nearly 20 years since that moment to work it out.
What is Fractal Loop Theory?
I like to think of Fractal Loop Theory as the pattern behind science, the science of science. It's not here to contradict any existing theories, but to be a framework for our understanding and a way of connecting everything together. If a Unified Theory doesn't unite everything then is it a Unified Theory?
What I didn't expect, is that it would explain itself quite as much as it does. As Stephen Hawking said:
"If we discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason".
It is therefore a little bit contradictory to typical scientific discipline - it's not complex! It's strength IS it's simplicity. And in that sense it is astoundingly simple. What it has taken, and maybe always needed, is for someone not bound by the strict rigor of any one discipline to think outside the box and see the simple pattern that is there. Though that's not to say that I don't adhere to the scientific method. I have a science degree and have always been obsessed and endlessly fascinated by science. It's just my passion rather than my career.
Where did it come from?
I've been storing the jigsaw pieces of FLT up for years, not sharing with anyone until I thought it was ready 'enough' to share. After the first realisation that I might have found the pattern and logic in June 2022, it wasn't until April 2023 that I had worked out the bulk of the theory. I decided that it was a theory that needed to be experienced and so I spent the rest of 2023 researching and in August 2023 started working on thestart.game website - a user experience dedicated to exploring the theory first hand. After testing in early 2024 and development throughout the year I turned my attention towards by own emergence - from long covid. I decided to create fractallooptheory.com in November and launch on the 1st Jan 2025. I have now started the slow process of social awareness as of the 5th May 2025.
Despite having written a 'short paper' that summarises the theory and wave code and a longer, more complete definition I'm stuck. I'm not an academic and so I can't just publish my work in the respected journals that I've read most of my life. Despite having achieved my goal I'm now faced with a new challenge of how to release it.
As a result, my current strategy is to use social outreach to crowd source people within academia that can help me achieve it either alone or by co-authoring a paper. If you're reading this and think you may have a solution then please get in touch.

Frequently asked questions
Q) Is this another Theory of Everything (TOE) claim?
A) FLT and the wave code are the language that a Unified Theory will be written in.
Q) Where can I see the wave code?
A) At the moment it's locked up in a safe place. If you can open the door to academic publication or are part of a loopquest then I will share relevant parts of the code, though to be clear my first aim is to achieve publication in a significant scientific journal.
Q) Why the secrecy?
A) Because a key this simple can open doors best left shut - until the time is right.
Q) Can I get involved?
A) Sure, please join a loopquest team or suggest one that's of interest to you and if it works for me too then we can start a new quest.
Q) Why are there no equations or maths on this site?
A) This is intentional so as to not reveal the code pre-publication. If you are in a loopquest group you will receive more information, though it's a requirement to sign a strict NDA before you join a loopquest.
Q) How do I get in touch with you directly?
A) Start with the contact form. Please add some context to your contact message so that I can identify genuine interest.
Q) Are we going to need a bigger boat?
A) Yes.
